10 Technical Resume Tips

Back in 2007, Steve Yegge listed 10 technical resume tips for people applying for technical jobs. While his focus is programmers, his tips apply to IT staff and auditors, and anyone technical.

Even though the article is 7 year old as of this writing, it still has staying power. I’ve seen each of these tips ignored in countless resumes.

It’s a long article, but very helpful and funny.

Every once in a while I feel like blogging about blogging…

The MORE tag ensures that only a few lines or paragraphs of a post appear on your home page (how much depends on where YOU put the tag). To read the rest of the post, the reader clicks “Continue reading” or whatever phrase your particular theme uses (my theme uses “Keep reading” by default but I changed it, as you can see here on my home page).

Security Awareness Tips

If you want a good collection of security tips for yourself or others, check out the www.onguardonline.gov website . It contains  articles, videos, quiz  games, and tutorials about security topics.

The topics and tutorials are good; the videos and quiz games seemed to be geared for the younger generation. Even so, it would be a good link to send to grandparents and those who are curious, but hesitant about technology.
